Walkersville backs Maitland Brothers as water plant contractor
Walkersville officials affirm Maitland Brothers of Littlestown Pa as the contractor for a 200000 water plant addition after the Sept 15 bid review. The lowest bidder’s objection triggers potential court action while town attorney Glenn Michel supports the town’s award decision. Delinquent Walkersville water bills total about 15 percent of customers with a 1 percent monthly surcharge. The town also asks a resident to survey land linked to a state highway project to determine ownership before any action.
