Bridges honors 26 who joined workforce
Frederick County honors 26 people who joined the workforce through the Badges program, a week long job readiness class by the Social Services Department. The program, established in 1996 as part of welfare reform, reports an 87 percent success rate with over 500 graduates.

Light the Night Walk in Frederick Supports Cancer Cause
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Maryland Chapter hosts the second Light the Night Walk at Baker Park Frederick starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday. About 200 walkers will cover a 2 to 3 mile route with white balloons for survivors and red balloons for participants. Volunteers from Knights of Columbus assist with parking and registration.
