Wickes Lumber Co plans a $13,500 expansion on the northeast side of Route 435 south of Frederick by Rice Brothers Construction of Hagerstown. The project adds a 190 by 32 foot one story storage building. Other approved permits total about $45.00, with various homeowners and firms adding rooms, sheds, and remodels across Frederick County.

Keedysville Crash Injures Octogenarian and Two
An afternoon Keedysville collision on Main Street sent an 80 year old driver and two others to the Washington County Hospital. Clarence Kakle of Keedysville faced charges for driving on the wrong side of the road after his 1951 Ford wagon collided with a Washington County School Board truck. James Russell Kline of Smithsburg, driver of the truck, was uninjured. Nathan Porter, 49, of Keedysville, and a 2 year old passenger were treated and released. Damages totaled 400 for the car and 30 for the truck. Local officials and planning members discussed an ordinance during a 30-person crowd event.

Brunswick accident injures three near bowling alley
A two year old boy and two men were injured when a Chevrolet station wagon was rear ended by a pickup truck on Souder Road in Brunswick at 5 35 pm. Richard Snoots 30 manager of a local department store and his 3 year old nephew Harvey Snoots were passengers. Harvey sustained neck injuries while Joseph Lerch suffered head and facial injuries. Eugene Lerch Jr 18 riding in the pickup was thrown into a floor area and injured. Richardson Snoots was cited for failing to signal prior to a turn and Eugene Lerch Jr was charged with following too closely.
