Economic woes blamed on Communist regimes amid tensions
The piece argues economic troubles within the Communist orbit may explain war escalation in the Formosa strait and Near East while predicting Western sympathy for a shift. It notes mass exodus from Eastern Europe, alleged famine in China, and cites John Strart MHI on state power. It also reports India’s President Rajendra Prasad arriving in Japan for a nine day state visit, greeted by Emperor Hirohito who breaks precedent by meeting a foreign head of state.
