Countians Decorated By French Govt
Dr. William 8. Quynn and his wife Dr. Dorothy Quynn, residents of Amelung, recently returned from a two year France stay, were decorated by the French government. They directed the University of Maryland Foreign Study Center in Paris for a year and attended the International Congress of Historical Studies in Paris as delegates. Dorothy Quynn read a paper on The Medieval Records of the University of Orleans. The couple had research work in Herblay near Paris and returned with manuscripts. They later faced an automobile wreck near Cherbourg en route to the Queen Mary, but French police cooperated and the car was brought back to the United States due to a $2,000 bond requirement. William Quynn has resumed duties in the Romance Languages department at the University of Maryland.
