The Past Patrons and Matrons Association of central Maryland met at Vindebona on Woodness date evening with three in attendance. Mrs. Rosa Snyder of Hagerstown is president and Holden S. Felton of this city is vice president. R Bred Wolfe served as toastmaster. Miss Marie Castle and Mrs Arinthe Marsh sang and performed. Dr. J Milton Patterson spoke on juvenile welfare and the group presented Miss Castle a thirty dollar purse for voice studies at Peabody Institute.

Whitmore attended Liberty High School class of 1941. The groom is a Thurmont High School 1942 graduate employed with Maryland Transportation Company.

Rev Walter G Haupt aged 83 died September 20 in Chicago where he resided in recent years. Son of Jacob and Amanda Haupt of Middletown he attended Mercersburg College. Survived by widow Mrs Fannie Haupt and son Rev Leveromd Haupt in Chicago. He belonged to Columbia Lodge No 58 A F and A Masons of this city.

Rev Dr Harry L Doll spoke on the recent General Convention in Philadelphia and the unity proposal with the Presbyterian church. He described the convention, diocese details, and plans for budgets, missions, and clergy costs including Japanese and Haiti work, and noted the overall denomination total of 3 986 000.
