Mire Fahey of Amboy is killed by her husband Michael Fahey in a brutal attack over alleged infidelity. The crime occurred after a night of drinking, with neighbors hearing agonizing shrieks. Fahey confessed and was jailed. the couple had three children, two of whom are dead, and Mrs. Fahey died Sunday from injuries.

In Hackensack New Jersey on September 23 John Smyth Joseph Staber and Pauline Staber were arrested for an atrocious assault and highway robbery. They struck George Grady superintendent of the brickyard with a stone and took his money before fleeing. The money was recovered. Justice Heath committed them to Hackensack jail. Grady is in critical condition.
