Students adapt as power outage hits school complex
A tree fell on wires at Monocacy Elementary School and the Frederick County Hayward Road Complex, causing outages at 10:30 a.m. The fault blew a fuse, repairs completed by 11:15 a.m. Generators powered hall lighting while classrooms used daylight. Food staff transported cheese sandwiches and pizza to nearby Monocacy Middle School. Some Hayward Road Complex staff were sent outside.
