School officials cite serious but non structural issues in masonry at Ballenger Creek and Spring Ridge elementary schools opened recently. The board previously reversed a decision and gave the MDE the authority.
Frederick County will charge weekend detainees at the county jail 25 dollars per day to cover food lodging and clothing. Sheriff Carl Harbaugh notes the fee aligns with state code and past taxpayer costs averaged about 16 900 dollars for 13 weekend prisoners per weekend last year.
