Zoning Changes Made by Frederick Planning Commission

The Frederick County Planning Commission voted three to one to recommend no basic changes to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance sideyard rules. Sideyards in R-1 districts were cut to 30 feet and in A-1 districts to 30 feet, standardizing R-1 and A-1 sideyards to 15 feet per side. The commission argued the changes would improve yard standards and suit a typical 70 foot frontage home. Final decisions rest with the Frederick County Commissioners at a public hearing October 11.
