Damascus Old Auto Activities Day draws 135 cars in rain
Wet Sunday dampened plans for the fourth annual Old Auto Activities Day by American Legion Post 1711 at the Post Home in Damascus. Despite the weather, 135 antique cars arrived from five regions and a sizable crowd attended as trophies were awarded for Backing Up, Dancing, Cranking, and traveling longest distance in a 1920 model or older.

Railroads Seek Tax Breaks and Policy Reforms
Labor Secretary James P. Mitchell urged both state and federal governments to grant railroads tax relief and flexible rate policies to compete with airlines and autos. Also reports on a Baltimore hit-and-run case, Grange officer elections, and a fair food booth plan.
