Stuck the Baby Full of Pins Confession Shocked Town

Mary Doug Tass a 15 year old Negro girl and nurse at Captain EB Mahon’s home in Chester was arrested on charges she stuck pins in three month old Jeannette Mahon. An exam found 14 pins and a safety pin in the infant. Mary confessed to a doctor and Mrs. Mahon but denied the accusation before the police chief. She was committed to the Detention Home for a hearing as the child’s condition remained serious. In Millville New Jersey Joseph Hains a butcher burned his arm pouring laudanum onto a wound and the liquid turned out to be carbolic acid causing severe burns.

Bull Gores Farmer 10 Death and Other Tragedies

David Bly of New Enterprise Pennsylvania dies after a bull fatally gored him in a barn yard driven by his niece Mrs Charlen Bly who narrowly escapes harm. Theodore Lehman aged 58 is kicked to death at Wolfburg Bedford County. At Fort Thomas Ohio a soldier kills himself after loss of rank in a despondent act directed by Major T M Doherty of the Fourth United States Infantry.

Dismembered Italian Man Found in New York Shaft

Race War in Atlanta Kills and Injures Many

Atlanta faced a severe race riot with at least 10 dead and about 40 injured as white residents armed with militia and police took control.
