Potomac Electric fights Potomac water use ruling
The Potomac Electric Power Co argued that Maryland approval is not needed to use Potomac River waters for a Loudoun County Virginia power plant. Attorney Thomas E. O'Dea contended riparian rights permit usage without state consent, while another Maryland official insisted permission is required. An informal meeting with Maryland's attorney general may be sought to resolve the issue.
