Blinded hero may never fly again

A National Guard pilot Lt Col Russell Tilton who survived dozens of rescues in the White Mountains may never fly again after a routine checkup mixup left him blind. The 46 year old veteran logged over 10,000 hours across planes and helicopters and endured three crashes in 24 years. Guard officials say the reflexive decision stems from the examination itself rather than health.

Road project dualization debated at public hearing

Beall cites state police pay as "out of whack" at fair

Republican candidate J. Glenn Beall spent about two hours at the Great Frederick Fair meeting with Fraternal Order of Police leaders and other GOP candidates. Odd Fellows home cuts nursing tied to life care policy

The Odd Fellows home will not accept new life care contracts and will transfer six life care patients to other facilities with costs drawn from escrow accounts. If funds exhaust, the Odd Fellows will cover further costs. State nursing home rule changes requiring more 24 hour care pressured the home, said Carter, who warned the facility would be put out of business.
