Residents near Union Ridge and New Design roads and Morland Drive are urged to watch for a missing moisture density gauge that may contain radioactive material. It fell from a truck Wednesday afternoon. a D W Kozera Co technician reported it to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. A search failed to find the device. the gauge holds radioactivity only if its seal breaks. Call the sheriff at 301-694-1046 if located.

State aided commuter service eyed for western Maryland airports
Three rural Maryland airports in western and southern regions met with state aviation officials to finalize plans for state subsidized commuter air service. The Office of Regional Aviation Assistance expects bids by mid October after airports settle aircraft type routes and service details. Four injured in two-car crash at US 15 Willow Rd
Four people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision at US 15 and Willow Road in Tl collimon area. A 1986 Toyota Ray 4 driven by Ying Lau, 32, attempted to turn left onto US 15 and collided with a southbound Pontiac driven by June Barnett, 36. Police say Lau was en route to cross US 15 toward a motel when the crash occurred at 7:55 p.m. Gores said ongoing investigation continues.
