Champion steer brings record sale price at fair
At the Great Frederick Fair Troy Eyler won his third grand champion 4-H market steer, a 1,245-pound crossbred sold to Rudy Trucking of Frederick for $13.50 a pound, a new fair record. Sixty six steers were sold as part of the 4-H market animal sale, with Kelly Miller’s grand champion hog selling for $7.25 a pound to Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick. Robin Davis, age 12, took the grand champion market lamb at $13 per pound from Giant.
