Farm Worker Loses Toes In Corn Blower Accident
A 38 year old farm worker Richard T. Hildebrand of Rt. G Frederick was injured Friday when his foot was caught in a corn blower. He suffered loss of several toes and a compound fracture of his right leg while on the Francis H. Ladson farm on Reics Ford Road. Discovered by John Ladson, he was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital in fair condition Friday night.

Nearly 60 percent of 188 cars and trucks tested in Frederick failed the Federal exhaust emission standards at a free event in front of the AAA office. The test, run by the Maryland Automobile Association, measured carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon levels on pre 1968 to 1974 models with a portable exhaust scanner. One motorist, Paul Carmack, corrected timing after a failed reading and the car passed on recheck.
