Rescue crews save hit by truck in Thurmont crash
Elmer Dyer survived a severe crash on US 15 after his Kenworth bedded into a dirt mound and rolled. Thurmont EMS teams packaged him on a backboard with a neck collar, airlifted to Washington County Hospital for spine and facial injuries, and surgeons later fitted steel rods to stabilize his spine.
