Thurmont Mayor Dies At Age Of 49
Omer J. Dubel mayor of Thurmont died at Johns Hopkins Hospital after a several month illness aged 49. He served his third term as mayor and was fire chief of Guardian Hose Co. as well as president for years. Survived by wife Ethel Hahn and children Josephine Janice Roberta Marilyn Lee Dubel and four sisters. Funeral Monday at 3 p.m. at Thurmont funeral home with burial in Blue Ridge cemetery.
