Canton Ohio September 20 1901 President Roosevelt and cabinet attended a solemn funeral service for McKinley at the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Generals Miles and admirals Farquhar led a vast military and civic procession with Knights Templar Pythias Masons Odd Fellows and business delegations from across the state and nation. The service featured Beethoven funeral music a star lit church and prayers and hymns as the coffin was lowered and borne from the building.
