Couple jailed for animal cruelty after deplorable conditions
A couple convicted of animal cruelty were found to have 20 to 30 cats and dogs confined inside their home and tied to a bannister. District Court Judge W Milner Roberts called the conditions deplorable and sentenced them to 180 days in jail with 170 suspended, but they posted an appeal bond and were released about 40 minutes later.
