Zaire Fight Tours Fail to Draw Expected Attendees
Promoters’ all foreman fight tours to Zaire sold far fewer than the 3,000 hoped for as prices were cut from 2400 to 1400 dollars. SwissAir was dropped for Icelandic Airways, and postposed dates reduced the audience to about 1,500 Americans and Europeans. Several hundred buyers had already departed for Zaire, with refunds not available, though they may attend rock concerts instead.
