A Princeton lecturer quotes Mr. Cleveland criticizing the constant rush in American life including trains boats and dining practices. He warns lightning may be more effective if not hurried and mocks the lunch table telephone phonograph and similar devices.
Abe Rosenthal of Philadelphia found guilty of murder in the second degree for killing his brother in law Lewis B. Clanada on February 15. Jury deliberated three hours. sentencing possible up to twenty years if no new trial is granted. Rosenthal expressed belief in a fair trial and vowed to fight for a new trial. A grand jury in Boyertown indicted Dr. Thomas J. B. Rhoads over fire safety failures at the Rhoads Opera House, risking 171 deaths. Harriet Munroe, copyright owner, also indicted. Caseload expected at next court term with local Citizens committee backing prosecutions.

President Judge Scott ordered Amandes Miller to eight months in fall for shooting five serenaders in Danielsville after a July 9 incident. Miller and his seventeen year old son were freed. Miller sobbed when told of the ruling and was carried from the courtroom.
