Negroes Move Into All-White Section in Southern Pines
In Southern Pines North Carolina a Black couple Mr. and Mrs. Martin White from Jamaica Queens moved quietly into a five room house in an all white subdivision. Neighbors protested after learning the Whites bought the home for 12000 dollars and set a 15000 deadline for resale with no takers. Mrs White a former Toledo policewoman said threats followed but they would stay and mind their own business. A guard will stay with them indefinitely.
