Extravagant speech and the overuse of wonderful
ABE MARTIN laments the overworked value of wonderful, noting how people brand ordinary things as wonderful from dinners to trips. He argues true wonders are scarce, with few named grand items like the Colossus at Rhodee and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Pilgrimage to Jerusalem Church Marks Old Cemetery Efforts
About 100 members from United Brethren Lutheran and Church of the Brethren denominations in Myersville and Middletown attended a Sunday pilgrimage to the Jerusalem church site one mile north of Myersville. Cyrus Flook led a committee forming to fund a marker and preserve the cemetery. The Jerusalem church, erected in 1711 by Dutch pioneers, served various evangelical congregations until its abandonment around 1786, with logs reused in a local house. House Farm Sold: Greenbry Market reports a 150 acre farm north of Burkittsville changing hands to William Divis at an estimated $140 per acre.
