Tax Exemption Rules For Disabled Veterans Spouses In Maryland
The exemption applies to surviving spouses of qualified disabled veterans who owned and resided on the exempted property prior to July 1, 196. The spouse must remain unmarried and owner resident. The exemption also covers those certified as blind with a 96,800 exemption value. Exemption lasts until remarriage, prorates mid year, and applies to one or two family dwellings as legal residences. About 160,080 qualifying property owners are receiving these exemptions in Maryland.
