Salt not sole cause of high blood pressure says researcher
Dr. David McCarron of Oregon Health Sciences University told reporters in Washington that animal studies linking salt to hypertension are flawed and that calcium intake may inversely relate to blood pressure. He notes sodium is essential, cautions against broad salt reductions, and calls for more human studies. The Dairy Council funds his work.
