Middletown Bypass Top Priority Urged by County Planners
Frederick County Planning Commission urged the county commissioners to press the State Highway Administration for a Middletown bypass as a top priority. Planning director James Shaw warned funding is unlikely soon, citing Woodsboro as a model of municipal fundraising. The body also granted conditional approval for a private school for emotionally disturbed children near Jefferson and for 71 single family lots on Md. 144 south side service road, plus satellite antennas for Great Southern Printing to boost county communications.
