Bar Association fights for law license of professor Anastaplo
CHICAGO AP long battle for George Anastaplo, once denied admission to the bar in 1951 for refusing to reveal political beliefs, as the Illinois Bar Association urges the state supreme court to reconsider. Anastaplo, now a Loyola University professor and author, says the case shows bar and court misconduct while the association argues the profession should admit past mistakes. Additionally, Bangkok notes celebrate Dr. Pierra Verjabul, 85, who built a charity network for orphans and women in Thailand, running a large care compound while researching prostitution and venereal disease. Verjabul’s efforts have aided thousands with care, housing, and instruction since returning from France with a medical degree.
