Former Frederick man gets two years for bad checks and liquor raid impact
A Frederick man Earle Henry Roelke Jr received a two year House of Correction term after passing 19 bad checks between July and August at service stations while seeking to recoup funds gained from horse race betting. The case tied to a separate raid at the American Legion post in Emmitsburg resulting in three confiscated slot machines and a $3500 fine for Francis X Elder. The court also addressed a support dispute under the uniform act, ordering a weekly $8 for the child’s meals.
