Strike Settled On 52 Railroads
Chicago reports that B M Jewell led the policy committee to authorize individual peace agreements based on a general settlement plan. The plan calls for workers to return to their original June 30 1922 positions with women returning until directions are received. Secretary of Labor Davis announced a virtual settlement covering 52 roads and 65 000 to 80 000 miles of track, with 400 000 shop craftsmen affected and seniority questions unresolved.
