Ford accuses I C C of aiding coal profiteers in fuel crisis

Detroit report cites Henry Ford denouncing the Interstate Commerce Commission for controlling empty coal cars and alleged links to coal profiteers and Wall Street. Ford claims utilities, railroads, and mines use the commission to ration coal, rake profits, and force public higher prices while workers are underpaid. He calls for direct government action and criticizes the L and N railroad for inadequate facilities. Ford denies reports that Ford Motor Co seeks coal via Ernest Heasley and notes plants may close.
