Judge Alarms Over Drug Problem Raises Grand Jury Alarm

Man Charged With Slaying Infant Betson Case in Frederick
Police charged Gilbert Rose Betson, 22, of North Market Street, with man slaughter in the death of his two month old son Bruce Robert Shaw Betson. Autopsy cited a blood clot on the brain as the cause. Also reported, a two vehicle crash on Md. 355 near US 40 at 12:15 a.m. causing damage worth about $500. Stabbings Near Hood College After Mixer Violence
Two 18 year old youths were stabbed in separate incidents on Rosemont Avenue near Hood College after a campus mixer. Joel Baron of Akron Pennsylvania suffered a back wound and Michael Kelly of Motter Avenue was treated for a left arm stab wound. both victims were listed in stable condition. Gideon T. Darkis led the investigations with no arrests reported as yet.
