Environment vs Business Split By Party In Maryland Scorecards
Maryland voters see a sharp divide as environmental groups and business groups rate lawmakers. The Maryland League of Conservation Voters released its annual scorecard covering six key House votes and Senate votes from the 2008 session. Democrats show stronger loyalty to conservation on three of four votes, while Republicans lean the other way on one in four. The business group tallies higher for eight of 47 senators and 75 percent of House Democrats, with many Democrats and Republicans scoring at or below 5 percent.

Escapees flee detention center in stolen pickup chase
