Jury trial set for accused murderer Nance in 1996 bridge killing
Two-week trial scheduled in February for Jean Louis Arnaud Nance, among four charged in the murdering of Adrian Keane Pilkington. Co-defendants Janson Jensen and Rachel Whitman have prior convictions. Wooldridge cooperates with a plea that could yield a life sentence with up to 15 years suspended. Pilkington, 20, of Knoxville, was stabbed and dropped from the Md 17 bridge into the Potomac River. A prior mistrial occurred in 1997 amid defense claims of prosecutorial misconduct and dismissal requests, which higher courts rejected.
