Middletown Opens Municipal Center at West Main Street
The town celebrated a ribbon cutting for the new $825,000 Middletown Municipal Center at 31 West Main Street. The three story, 12 674 square foot building funded in part by a $250,000 state bond will house town offices on the second floor and a community space on the basement and third floors. The structure replaces Granger’s Insurance and has drawn opposition for its cost and size. Local leaders say it provides room to grow and will host events with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Zion using church parking for special occasions. The center’s opening was marked by officials including Burgess Bill Thompson and state delegates and commissioners.
