Desperate Baltimore Area Wife Seeks Home For Infant
Frances Kackley aged six months and her mother Lucy Kackley, an eighteen year old new bride, arrived in Frederick from Emmitsburg seeking a home and work to support their baby. James E. Kackley, the husband, left them at the Pennsylvania station after promising to send for them in a Ford truck that broke down earlier near Thurmont. The mother fears he may not return, having left her previously in Philadelphia. Federated Charities took the pair to Montevue Hospital temporarily while a housing plan is sought.
