A creamy chilled rice pudding served with a maple pear sauce. pears are added to the hot sauce for fresh flavor. The recipe uses milk rice sugar salt cinnamon and cream with a maple syrup lemon butter and Bartlett pears for the sauce.
Basil, also called Sweet Basil, is a mint family annual native to India. The herb enhances heart and head with its lemony anise aroma and is used widely in Italian cooking, pizzas, pastas, soups, meats, and vegetables. It pairs with tomatoes, adds zest to eggs, seafood, and salads, and should be crushed before use.
The ninth annual Men’s National Cooking Championship kicks off to crown the 1969 National Cooking Champion. Amateur male cooks may enter by submitting an original main dish recipe using potato chips as an ingredient. Wives of past champions inspired entrants. state and regional winners advance to finals in Avanta Georgia on January 28, 1969.
