Government eyeing price boosts on beef cuts under OPS rules
Amid wartime inflation debate, Truman disputes inflationary charges while OPS plans to issue an order allowing higher prices on fast selling beef cuts like round steak and lower prices on loin and rib cuts to offset falling hides and tallow. The move seeks to protect pre Korean War profit margins for packers. A separate item notes a surprise birthday party for Mrs. Leonard Burrier in Taylorsville with numerous attendees.
