Rain Helps Hubs To Win Third Game Of Flag Series
The Hub's win in an abbreviated third game of the 1926 Blue Ridge League flag series puts Hagerstown within one win of the pennant as rain halted play in the sixth inning with the visitors leading 2 to 0. Key early hits and strong pitching by Six and Thomas highlighted the Hustlers defense, while Ollie Fitzberger and Greene produced drives for the Hubs. The game was paused for nearly an hour before the decision, with attendance at 894 and receipts near $600. The fourth game is set for Hagerstown at 3 p.m. today, with likely pitching by Dolan for the home team and either Sherry or Boemer for Frederick.
