Boy Wizard's Receiving Box Amazes Electricians
William E. D. Stokes Jr., twelve, of New York City, claims to have designed a receiving box that not only captures wireless messages but reproduces words and sounds. Demonstrations on a rooftop reveal intelligible speech and a mix of phrases, with ranges suggesting Philadelphia or within 100 miles of New York. He works alone, has studied electricity since age ten, and will not disclose further details.
