Eastern Milk Orders Amended by U S Agriculture
Final decision amends six eastern milk marketing orders to adjust Class 1 bottling milk prices based on a floor tied to the Minnesota Wisconsin manufacturing milk price and potential increases when that price rises. The change affects Boston to Upper Chesapeake markets and NY NJ order assessments, with proposed butterfat differentials and a 4 cent per hundredweight administrative fee in NY NJ. Public hearings in New York supported the plan.

A dubious historic spoof defines a cow as an automated milk machine. It outlines a leather encased four legged chassis with a front end housing grinders and lights and a rear milk dispenser plus a complex fermentation and heating network. The piece notes color and size variety and jokes about a milkless bull machine.
