Residents Back Recycling Drive For Frederick County
Grassroots volunteers from Clean Water Action led a three week fundraiser and door to door canvass to raise funds for local recycling efforts in Frederick County. The campaign, backed by Ron Sundergill and Aan Shaughnessy, exceeded the $12 000 goal and spurred support for a countywide recycling plan ahead of mandates requiring 3 percent waste diversion. The push coincided with the county’s approval of a preliminary recycling plan as the recycling committee works with the Maryland General Assembly on countywide targets.
