County Firemen Elect Officers at Annual Convention
Frederick County Volunteer Firemen elected Charles R. Cline Jr as president and W M Ray Spermer as first vice president at the Jefferson Community Center meeting. Donald E. Stely became second vice president with Robert L. Wilhide as secretary and Thomas W. White as assistant. Paul M Burner was re elected treasurer with Raymond A. Stull Jr as assistant treasurer. Trustees named include Merritt Remsberg Carmen Fogle Sterling H White Robert E. Murmma Sam Lenhart and Everett Weaver. The association received a plaque from Elmer Dunn for its muscular dystrophy work and raised dues from six to ten dollars. Vaughn Zimmerman presented the Clint Hughes memorial trophy to the fire prevention committee for countywide efforts, honoring Hughes for advancing a two channel fire radio system.
