Teen recaptured after courthouse escape in Maryland
Justin Edward Keeney a 17 year old involved in a four hour standoff at the East Sykesville Shelter Home allegedly carried a hand grenade and threatened to blow up if his girlfriend was not found. He fled a Frederick County Circuit Court on a runaway charge and was later captured hiding in a trailer near Woodsboro. The state says the grenade incident occurred last week and authorities say he surrendered to state police and was sent to the Charles Hickey School in Baltimore County.

Arnold Fleagle Dies A Frederick Educator Remembered
Arnold Norman Fleagle 76 a longtime Frederick educator died at his Linden Avenue home on September 5 after a long illness. Born March 25 1920 in Hagerstown he rose from Western Maryland College to Teachers College and earned a master’s at Columbia University in 1950. He taught and led Frederick High and Walkersville High before chairing local principal associations and serving on state ethics committees. He was married to Ruth Penner Fleagle since August 17, 1944.
