Mine collapse damages several homes in Scranton area

A mine collapse near Tripp Park in Scranton, Pennsylvania damaged four residences and shifted about 25 acres by one to five feet. Tracks on the local railroad settled five feet at the center of a 50 yard disturbance, halting trains on the nearby Kersar Valley branch. The events appear linked to prior abendional mine workings in the same district.
