Spinks plans a surprise for Ali in September fight
Heavyweight champion Leon Spinks said he plans something different for his Sept. 15 title defense against Muhammad Ali but would not reveal details. The New Orleans training camp featured boxer Jorge Lujan sparring nearby as Spinks focused on bags to acclimate to heat and humidity. Spinks weighed about 215 pounds and would not commit to a target weight, stressing only his intent to win and respect for Ali, who gave charity appearances during a training break.
