Glendening to tour Western Maryland with cabinet
Governor Parris Glendening plans a Western Maryland tour with his cabinet next week. Comptroller Schaefer had sought to borrow the governor’s bus, prompting a sharp exchange at the Board of Public Works meeting. The bus, used in the Capital-for-a-Day program, was sold in 1995 for 81,000 to Custom Coach, with origins dating to 1987. Glendening will hold a Cabinet meeting at Frostburg State University and promote technology to Western Maryland businesses, while noting no link to Schaefer’s Capital for a Day.
