The scheduled city hearing on rezoning the King farm south of Frederick was held but no action could be taken due to lack of Commission recommendation. A memo from G Hunter Bowers noted planners will review the request at the September 14 meeting before sending it to lawmakers, as location for the Interstate 70 interchange remains uncertain. Local attorney Richard E. Zimmerman said no shopping center is planned and a group of Washington businessmen is buying the property between US 240 US 340 and Ballenger Creek Pike for future use. The request includes 25 acres to B-3, 71 acres to M-1, 127 acres to R-2, and 30 acres to R-3 zoning with reports from Buford Hayden and Robert Groves.
