A guarded shipment of jewelry valued at about £16000 disappeared from an airplane between Paris and Nassau after leaving London and Lisbon. The jewels, packed in Paris and destined for Nassau, were inspected by customs in Paris and London. An employee flew with the cargo and, upon reaching Nassau, boxes felt heavier and were found to contain removed jewels with lead strips substituted. The jewels were insured.
